UK Squirrel Accord Anniversary Conference 2025
On 25-26 June 2025 the UK Squirrel Accord celebrated its ten-year anniversary with a conference at the University of Greenwich. We are very grateful to everyone that came and made it such a memorable event. Thanks also to our conference sponsors: Red Squirrel Survival Trust and University of Greenwich.

Over the two days we welcomed fantastic stakeholders from across the UK squirrel world and heard from some excellent speakers. Talks, posters and workshops covered conservation, disease, genetics, tree damage, grey squirrel fertility control research and the UK Squirrel Accord. The full two-day agenda for the event is available from our Resources Library.
It was great to see the breadth of activity and research covered, and demonstrated the passion and dedication people have for red squirrel conservation and tree protection. Delivering effective grey squirrel management is not an easy task, but it is important to understand the progress being made. Hopefully this event helped to galvanise efforts and rejuvenate stakeholder energies. It was certainly a positive way to celebrate ten years of the UK Squirrel Accord – working together and finding solutions.
For anyone that missed the conference, we will organise some webinars this autumn/winter with the conference speakers. These will be recorded and added to YouTube to help get the key messages and information out to a wider audience. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to watch new videos when they are added and catch up on lots of interesting past webinars.
